Welcome to Chroma Test – the official representative of the “Laboratory of Microbial Chromatography” in the European Union!
The Laboratory has been specializing in a single type of clinical test. As the name suggests, we deal with microbial chromatography or, more precisely, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (more details: Wikipedia – Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry).
We use gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to determine components of the cell walls of microorganisms, the so-called microbial markers among the higher fatty acids, in human biological samples. Every microorganism has its “own” markers typical only to them. Their detection allows one to make a conclusion on the presence of certain microbes and to assess their quantity. This is used to identify infectious agents of inflammation and to assess dysbiosis in different places.
MedBazis Laboratory has been on the market since 2010. Equipped with devices manufactured by Agilent Technologies, Inc. and used the data of the mass spectral library NIST 14 of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), as well as the Sherlock ™ Microbial Identification System (MIS) – MIDI Sherlock.
The main advantages of chromatography-mass spectrometry of microbial markers are:
- Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is a highly sensitive and reliable examination method.
- One test quantifies more than 50 dominant kinds and species of microorganisms – potential participants of inflammatory processes.
- Unlike such widely used methods of diagnostics as culture, immunoserological and molecular biological methods, GC-MS identifies a whole spectrum of microbes that is not traditionally taken into account. As a result, we avoid situations when patient remains insufficiently examined and help mitigate possible negative consequences.
- A unique feature of GC-MS is the ability to identify pathogens in “latent” state, when microcolonies are wrapped in a protective polysaccharide capsule.
- The method is versatile. It is used to study microbiocenoses of any organs and localizations.
